Atlas Medical is expanding its team and seeking a compassionate Medical Billing & Insurance Specialist to support healthcare reimbursement operations for a patient-focused care organization.
The role is based at Atlas Medical Care in Mesa, Arizona and is responsible for managing the medical claims process from submission through payment resolution. Duties include reviewing and submitting insurance claims, processing ERAs, posting insurance payments, verifying patient eligibility and benefits, resolving claim rejections and denials, correcting claim edits, following up on unpaid claims, and maintaining detailed documentation of claim activity and payer communications. The position also supports credentialing activities and other billing-related projects as needed.
3+ years of medical billing experience, preferably in primary care
CPB or CBCS certification
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and payer guidelines
Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance
Credentialing experience preferred
Experience with Elation Billing appreciated
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong time management skills
Service-oriented, compassionate, and caring mindset
Valid driver's license, proof of current insurance, and reliable transportation
Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card
Current CPR certification and proof of negative TB test
