Medical Coding Specialist

Ensemble Health Partners is a technology-enabled revenue cycle management company serving health systems, hospitals, and affiliated physician groups. The organization focuses on keeping hospitals healthy by delivering end-to-end revenue cycle solutions across the country.

This role reviews medical record documentation and assigns ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT IV, and HCPCS codes for outpatient records while abstracting required data elements and ensuring compliance with federal regulations, CMS guidance, AHIMA coding ethics, and AHA Coding Clinic directives. The position covers outpatient visits including ancillary, urgent care, emergency department, observation, same-day surgery, and interventional procedures.

The role is remote, but candidates must be willing to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.

Requirements & Qualifications

Must have experience in multiple pro-fee specialties, including HemOnc/Interventional Radiology, Ortho, Allergy/ENT, OBGYN, Cardio, General Surgery, Pediatric General Surgery, or Pulmonology.

At least 1 year of previous coding experience is preferred.

Required knowledge and skills include:

  • Computer and PC application proficiency
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with EPIC and coding software tools
  • Strong organization, communication, time management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines
  • Openness to innovation, including AI-assisted workflows

Education and certification requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • AAPC or AHIMA coding certification: CPC-A, CPC, CCA, or CCS
