Clinical Administrative Assistant

The Clinical Administrative Assistant reviews, audits, and approves clinical documentation submitted by employed and contracted nurses to ensure records are accurate, complete, compliant, and ready for billing.

The role also supports the Detailed Written Order team, backs up clinical intake activities, and works across intake, pharmacy, nursing, scheduling, and leadership teams to support compliant patient care workflows.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and approving nursing documentation for accuracy, completeness, compliance, and billing readiness
  • Auditing patient medical records and identifying documentation deficiencies or trends
  • Supporting intake operations, including medical necessity review and authorization follow-up
  • Assisting with Detailed Written Order preparation, tracking, and completion
  • Supporting accreditation, quality assurance, corrective action, and process improvement efforts
Requirements & Qualifications

An active LVN or LPN license is required; an RN license does not meet the stated requirement.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Current LVN or LPN licensure in the state of work and good standing with the Board of Nursing
  • Healthcare experience in home infusion, home health, specialty pharmacy, case management, clinical operations, or a related field
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Strong understanding of clinical documentation standards and healthcare compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of ACHC and URAC standards
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
