The incumbent retrieves documentation from various nursing units and ancillary departments and scans it into the electronic medical record in a timely manner, accurately indexing each document by document type and patient. The role also reviews medical records for compliant documentation, assigns and tracks deficiencies as needed, and processes requests for Release of Information while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
