Penn Highlands Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) to concurrently review patient medical records and ensure the accurate representation of severity of illness. This role involves extensive chart review and close collaboration with physicians, HIM professionals, and nursing staff. The specialist will also participate in team meetings and help educate staff on the Compliant Documentation Management Program (CDMP) process.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field required
- 3 years of current experience required
- Previous CDS background preferred
- Current, active, and in-good-standing licensure in the state of Pennsylvania required
- Healthcare provider status at hire required
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines for Medicare Part A required
