Facilitates the registration and scheduling process for patients and coordinates with registration and ancillary departments to support accurate capture and throughput of outpatient appointments.
Schedules patient appointments for ancillary departments, records necessary information, notifies physician offices of possible non-covered appointments, and facilitates prompt delivery of precertification for outpatient clinics.
Evaluates, compiles, and reports information to support patient care, maintains clerical records related to scheduling functions, and keys in information for patient appointments and external reviews on pre-certified appointments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Computer proficiency required
- Knowledge of small office equipment such as copier, fax, and calculator required
- 1+ year in a medical setting with coding, charge entry, and payment collection preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
