University of Colorado Medicine (CU Medicine) is a large multispecialty physician group practice supporting business operations, revenue cycle, and administrative services for University of Colorado School of Medicine providers.
The Medical Coding Assistant will join the Coding Services team to help reconcile electronic professional charges, review missing charge reports, assist with basic coding review, perform data entry, and support clerical tasks. This position can be performed 100% remotely, and out-of-state candidates will be considered.
Must have:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of office experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Accredited coding certification, such as CPC-A
- Proficiency with MS Office products
- Strong data entry speed and accuracy
- Ability to learn CU Medicine systems, including EPIC
- Familiarity with medical insurance billing, medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to problem solve, prioritize tasks, and follow leadership direction
