Become a part of the Hope At Home Family as a Certified Home Health Coder & QA Specialist.
This role is responsible for coding skilled home health visits using ICD-10, reviewing OASIS documentation, abstracting visit data for billing and data collection, and providing coding recommendations based on current guidelines. The position also supports documentation review, quality assurance, and communication with management/supervision.
The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with home health documentation software and high-tech communication tools.
Qualifications
- Certification in home health coding required
- Proficient knowledge of OASIS preferred
- Registered Nurse preferred
- Working knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation in Home Health Services required
- Working knowledge of federal and state home health licensure regulations required
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, compliance, and reimbursement guidelines required
- Strong computer skills and adaptability to home health documentation software required
- Detail-oriented with critical thinking and strong analytical skills
- Flexible in response to changes in work volume and schedule
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, conflict resolution, and team-building skills
- Minimum 2 years of previous ICD-10 and/or ICD-9 coding experience with verified employment/experience required
Education and Credentials
- High school diploma required
- College diploma preferred
- Completion of coding-specific coursework required
- Registered Nurse license in Michigan required
- Degree from an accredited nursing program or other accredited healthcare program preferred
- Healthcare credentials associated with program of study desirable
- Additional healthcare abstraction and coding credentials desirable
