ETSU Health is seeking Medical Coding Specialists to join its Surgery team. The role supports accurate medical record review, coding, and reimbursement processes within a multi-specialty healthcare practice affiliated with East Tennessee State University.
The position is responsible for reviewing medical records, assigning appropriate codes, maintaining coding accuracy and compliance, and supporting billing operations. The role also helps ensure complete and accurate reimbursement and communicates billing concerns to leadership when needed.
CPC recommended or five years of coding experience/auditing from medical record documentation.
- Review medical records and determine appropriate services to be coded using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and/or HCPCS
- Apply HCC coding specificity when working in primary care offices
- Maintain accuracy and effectiveness in coding and billing workflows
