Inpatient Coding Specialist – IRF
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Scheduled Monday through Friday during assigned facility business hours, generally between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM in your time zone.
This remote role supports Lifepoint Health’s Rehabilitation Services IRF Coding Team. The team provides coding support for rehabilitation facilities across multiple regions and operates in a fully remote, collaborative environment.
The position focuses on inpatient rehabilitation facility coding, including IRF records, impairment coding, and timely submission of IRF PAIs for Medicare inpatients. The role also supports confidentiality, compliance, professional development, and timely completion of assigned coding work.
Qualifications
- RHIT, RHIA, or AHIMA coding certification (CCA, CCS)
- AAPC coding certification (CPC, CIC)
- Minimum two years of current experience in inpatient rehabilitation hospital coding
- Experience with UB-04 and IRF PAI
- Ability to work remotely and maintain assigned coding schedules
- Strong computer skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Knowledge of basic office equipment and telephone communication skills
- Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
