Medical Coding & Billing Specialist

Stella Mental Health is a leading provider of breakthrough mental health treatments for stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma symptoms. The organization combines psychotherapy with modalities such as Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB), Ketamine Infusion Therapy, Spravato, and TMS.

The Medical Coding & Billing Specialist will ensure accurate and timely payment for patient services in a hybrid role based out of the Westmont, IL clinic.

Responsibilities include:

• Review patient encounter documentation to ensure accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding for claims submission.
• Submit clean claims to insurance companies and resolve denials or claim issues.
• Collaborate with providers and medical staff to obtain necessary billing information.
• Generate patient statements, collect payments, and assist patients with billing inquiries via phone, email, and chat.
• Manage delinquent accounts, including sending accounts to collections when necessary.
• Process payer and patient refunds.
• Provide billing support and guidance to medical and support staff.
• Maintain compliance with billing regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain current medical billing certification and coding proficiency.
