As a Certified Professional Coder II, you will support ambulatory coding operations by reviewing and coding assigned work queues, ensuring accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines, and supporting patient care through precise documentation review.
You will also perform monthly on-site visits to assigned clinics in the Charlotte or Winston-Salem, NC areas, collaborate with providers and staff, and contribute to revenue cycle improvement efforts.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required
- CPC-A, CPC, CCS-P, COC, CMC, RHIA, or RHIT credential
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of healthcare experience with at least 1 year of professional coding experience
- Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform self-audits and understand revenue cycle impact
Preferred
- 2+ years of medical terminology experience
- Customer service experience in a clinic setting
- Direct provider communication experience
