As a Home Health Coder II, you will review and code home health and hospice records using clinical documentation such as H&P, discharge summaries, progress notes, and face-to-face notes. You will document coding recommendations, support OASIS edits, and work with team leads and denials teams to resolve coding-related issues.
You will help maintain coding quality, productivity, and timely OASIS review and submission within the electronic medical record. The role also involves addressing SHP alerts and reports in coordination with quality support staff and team leadership.
Required:
- Home Health coding experience
- Minimum 2 years of professional fee coding experience
- At least 1 year of experience coding Home Health and Hospice specialties
- Coding certification
Preferred:
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Knowledge of pathophysiology
- OASIS certification
Other qualifications:
- Ability to maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and federal regulations
