Remote Medical Billing Specialist role supporting accurate billing, coding, payment posting, and account balancing for Mercy Urgent Care.
This position focuses on daily patient and insurance communication, resolving billing issues, and assisting with denials and appeals. The role is remote, but the employee must be located within 2 hours of Shepherdsville, KY.
Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Coding certificate preferred
- At least 2 years of coding experience required
- Experience with claims, payment posting, denials, appeals, and coding
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Workers’ Compensation billing guidelines
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work full days from home with no interruptions
