GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Certified Professional Coder (CPC) to perform charge review, coding, and billing support for physician services.
Performs various duties to accurately interpret and bill physician charges. Enters appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes into the billing system and ensures charges are billed correctly.
Responsibilities include reviewing clinical documentation, entering coded data into gPM, coordinating with physicians and billing staff, monitoring charge capture, and scrubbing claims for accurate and compliant submission.
High school diploma or GED required.
Professional Coding Certification from AAPC: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.
Preferred experience working with EMR and in medical coding.
Level I status:
- Entry level with 1-4 years of experience and/or ability to perform the job with additional supervision
- More than 4 years of experience if meeting only the basic requirements with additional supervision
Additional requirements:
- Good knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Knowledge of third-party billing and collection regulations and requirements
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to gather and interpret clinical data
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and alpha-numeric data entry
- Strong attention to detail and decision-making skills
