Coding Specialist

North Arkansas Regional Medical Center

Join North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) as a Coding Specialist in Health Information Management (HIM). This role is responsible for reviewing and coding outpatient medical records, ensuring accurate reimbursement, supporting billing processes, and maintaining compliance with coding and regulatory standards.

You will work closely with the HIM department and other hospital teams, enter coded data into the MEDITECH electronic health record system, and help support daily medical record operations as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

Required

  • Training or job experience in ICD-10-CM and CPT coding
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medical documentation

Preferred

  • One year of outpatient medical coding experience
  • Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with the MEDITECH electronic health record system
