Join Twin Cities Eye Consultants as a Medical Billing Specialist supporting an ophthalmology team focused on patient care, accuracy, and collaboration. This is a remote position within Minnesota, with quarterly visits to the corporate headquarters and additional visits as needed.
You will help keep billing processes accurate and moving forward by working claims, answering patient questions, reconciling payments, and partnering with coding staff to resolve issues. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, and starts at $19 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of direct medical insurance billing experience or customer service-focused billing support experience in the medical field
- At least 6 months of customer service experience
- Strong computer and data-entry skills
- Excellent accuracy, spelling, and attention to detail
- Strong organization, follow-through, and problem-solving skills
- Clear, compassionate, and patient-centered communication
- Ability to stay productive, organized, and connected while working remotely
- Current Minnesota residency
- Ability to attend meetings at the corporate headquarters at least quarterly and upon request
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with health insurance processes and medical terminology
- Experience resolving rejected, denied, or unpaid medical claims
- Basic accounting experience
- Experience in ophthalmology or another healthcare specialty
