Michigan Head & Spine Institute has an immediate full-time Medical Biller position available for a large, high-volume neurosurgery practice.

Michigan Head & Spine Institute is the largest, most experienced group of physicians in Southeast Michigan dedicated to treating patients with disorders of the head and spine.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Requirements & Qualifications

Responsibilities

Post payments from insurance carriers, patients, or other sources
Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contracts
Call insurance companies regarding payment discrepancies or erroneous rejections as needed
Follow up on unpaid claims within required time frames
Appeal insurance denials as appropriate
Answer patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts
Perform additional responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

Knowledge of insurance guidelines
High school diploma or equivalent
2–3 years of experience in medical billing
