Responsible for accurate and timely accounts receivable follow-up, appeals, and corrected claims submission to workers' compensation and no-fault insurance carriers. The role involves frequent interaction with insurance companies and occasional phone communication with patients.
Key responsibilities include reviewing patient information and medical records, verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, resolving denied or rejected claims, communicating with patients and providers, reconciling accounts, and supporting revenue cycle operations.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of New York State no-fault and workers' compensation rules and regulations
- 2+ years of medical billing experience
- 1+ year of workers' compensation experience
- 1+ year of no-fault experience
- 2+ years of experience with EMR systems
- Surgical billing experience strongly preferred
- Medent EMR experience is a plus
