We are seeking an experienced certified medical biller to join a growing healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on biller who understands the complete revenue cycle and can work claims through payment, not just submit them.
The role focuses on medical billing, claim follow-up, denials, appeals, payment posting, collections, and accounts receivable management. Experience with sleep medicine, diagnostic testing, DME/CPAP, and physician practice billing is highly desirable.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 4+ years of medical billing and collections experience
- Medical billing or coding certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, modifiers, and payer billing requirements
- Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer rules
- Experience with denial management and insurance appeals
- Proven ability to work aged accounts and improve collections
- Ability to recognize reimbursement discrepancies and underpayments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to independently manage a significant claim workload
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a strong plus
- Strong familiarity with New York-based HMOs and insurance plans
- Experience with sleep medicine, home sleep testing, in-lab sleep studies, DME/CPAP, or physician professional services preferred
