- Submit healthcare claims efficiently to insurance companies, government programs, and patients while ensuring compliance with healthcare claims management protocols.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective collection strategies, including patient outreach and insurance appeals.
- Review medical records and documentation to verify coding accuracy and completeness for billing purposes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures when necessary to facilitate accurate billing.
- Maintain detailed records of billing activities, collections, and correspondence related to patient accounts.
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding regulations, insurance policies, and billing software enhancements to optimize workflow.

- Proven experience in medical billing, charge entry, or medical collections within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding systems including CPT, ICD-9/10, ICD coding, DRG classifications, and HCPCS codes.
- Familiarity with billing software platforms and EMR/EHR systems used in healthcare practices.
- Excellent understanding of health insurance processes, coverage policies, and healthcare claims management procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
