Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Biller (CMB, CPB, or equivalent) preferred or required
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of medical billing experience in a physician practice, clinic, or healthcare facility
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
- Proficiency with EHR systems and medical billing software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Skills
- Experience with denial management and appeals
- Knowledge of payer guidelines and reimbursement policies
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
