MEDIQ Urgent Care is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Medical Biller to support billing operations for its urgent care clinics.
This is an in-person role supporting the High Point, North Carolina location and surrounding clinic operations. The position focuses on insurance claims submission and follow-up, denial resolution, payment posting, patient balance management, and helping improve revenue cycle performance.
The ideal candidate is accurate, organized, and collaborative, with strong communication skills and a commitment to timely reimbursement and excellent patient service.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical billing experience required; urgent care, primary care, emergency medicine, or physician practice experience preferred
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding principles
- Experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers' compensation
- Familiarity with EMR and practice management systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
Preferred
- CPC, CPB, or other billing/coding certification
- Urgent care or multi-site physician practice experience
- Experience with denial management and revenue cycle analytics
