Duties

- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance companies and patients to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, payments, adjustments, and collections within EMR and EHR systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate medical coding, including ICD and CPT updates.
- Manage medical collections by contacting patients regarding outstanding balances while providing excellent customer service.
- Stay current with health insurance policies, medical terminology, and industry regulations to support compliance and reimbursement optimization.

Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing within a healthcare setting; medical office experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare claims processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and healthcare claims management tools.
- Understanding of health insurance plans, coverage policies, and the claims adjudication process.
- Skilled in medical coding including CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10, DRG classifications, and ICD coding practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex data accurately.
- Strong customer service skills for interacting professionally with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
