Experienced medical insurance biller needed for a plastic surgery practice and ambulatory surgery center. The role focuses on out-of-network claims, reimbursement, and revenue cycle support.
Responsibilities include submitting and managing insurance claims for the doctor and facility, verifying benefits and eligibility, obtaining prior authorizations, following up on unpaid or denied claims, preparing appeals, managing accounts receivable and aging reports, communicating with insurance carriers, negotiating contracts and insurance payments, posting insurance payments, correcting and rebilling claims, identifying billing trends, maintaining patient billing records, and assisting patients with insurance questions related to out-of-network benefits.
Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience.
Preferred experience with:
- Out-of-network billing
- Plastic surgery, surgery, or ambulatory surgery center billing
- CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Commercial insurance claims
- Appeals and reconsiderations
- Prior authorizations
- Accounts receivable management
- EMR and billing software
