Mira Health is building the AI operating system for orthopedic practices and ASCs. The company is hiring an experienced medical biller to advise on and work denials and prior authorizations.
The role will focus on difficult denials, including drafting appeal letters and building payer-specific strategies. Work will involve complex orthopedics such as multi-level spine, sports medicine arthroscopy, implants and hardware, and bundling/modifier details, as well as prior authorizations that depend on strong medical necessity documentation.
The position also includes weekly collaboration with AI engineers to improve prior authorization and denials tools, identify payer logic issues, and perform quality assurance on coding output for complex cases.
Deep experience inside payer and UM portals
Track record of overturned denials
Strong command of orthopedic bundling, modifier logic, and ASC versus office site-of-service rules
Ability to break complex payer processes into clear steps for others to follow
Current use of AI in daily billing work
A proactive mindset focused on redesigning broken processes
