Academy Orthopedics is an orthopedic surgery and sports medicine practice serving patients throughout northern New Jersey. This position supports the in-house billing team with accounts receivable follow-up, denial management, appeals, claim resolution, and related revenue cycle tasks. The role also involves preparing specialty claims for transfer to an external billing partner and assisting with charge entry, payment posting, eligibility verification, patient statements, and records requests.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Dependability, punctuality, and ability to work on-site five days per week
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Preferred
- Prior medical billing, medical office, or health insurance experience
- Medical billing coursework or progress toward CPC, CPB, or COC certification
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (ECW) or similar software
- New Jersey workers' compensation or PIP experience
- Multilingual abilities
