The Medical Biller I role involves specialized clerical and bookkeeping work related to accounting principles, fiscal records, accounts receivable, and medical billing in the project tracking system.
Key duties include reviewing and interpreting Patient Care Reports (PCRs) for billing input using RescueNet software, entering charges based on the County Fee Schedule, assigning proper ICD-9/10 codes, verifying insurance coverage, communicating with insurance companies, preparing correspondence and reports, following up on unpaid claims, entering payments from remittance downloads, checks, and EOBs, and maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Knowledge and skills
- Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and procedures

- Ability to operate office machinery, including a computer terminal and PC
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, medical billing software, and RescueNet preferred

Minimum qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in bookkeeping and/or maintenance of fiscal records and/or medical records
- Experience with a computer terminal or PC
- Familiarity with ICD-9/10, RescueNet software, and medical billing preferred
- Customer service and/or data entry experience preferred
- Valid Florida driver's license required
