We are seeking a Medical Biller to join a busy, established ophthalmology practice with five doctors and a current team of three billers. The role requires someone who is experienced, dedicated, comfortable with technology, and able to thrive in a fast-paced office environment.
The practice values strong interpersonal and communication skills, collaboration, and a positive, can-do attitude. Bilingual candidates are helpful.
Responsibilities
- Read and understand medical bills
- Code medical bills
- Understand billing procedures for multiple insurance companies
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and protect patient privacy
- Help ensure patients pay their bills on time
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a medical billing specialist in a fast-paced medical office
- ICD-10 experience preferred
- CPT coding experience preferred
- Medical billing experience preferred
- Medical coding experience preferred
- Team-oriented attitude
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a technology-driven environment
