Busy medical practice in Sugar Land is seeking an additional medical billing specialist.
Responsibilities include understanding billing department functions such as medical coding, claims, payment posting, and reimbursements. The role also involves reviewing accounts receivable aging reports, overseeing patient statement aging, managing patient statements and co-pay cards, handling specialty benefit verification, appeals and denials, following up on aging reports for unpaid insurance claims and patient balances, and assisting with prior authorizations for biologics. The position also includes responding to staff inquiries regarding CPT and ICD-10 codes.
Office hours are Monday 8:00am-5:00pm, Tuesday 8:00am-6:00pm, Wednesday 8:00am-5:00pm, Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm, and Friday 8:00am-3:00pm.
Must be comfortable working with computers.
Experience with patient accounts receivable and aging is required.
Preferred experience:
- 1 year of patient accounts receivable and aging experience
- 2+ years of relevant experience indicated in the job title
