Fairview Range is hiring a Concurrent Inpatient Coding Specialist to work remotely from Hibbing, MN.
In this role, you will apply diagnostic and procedural codes to medical records for data retrieval, analysis, and claims processing. You will support clinical documentation improvement by reviewing documentation for specificity, accuracy, and completeness, and you will work closely with providers and other caregivers to improve documentation quality and capture patient severity and services rendered.
This is a full-time position scheduled for 80 hours per pay period with no weekends.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Coding certification or an associate degree in Health Information Management
- 3 years of coding-related experience, such as coding, abstracting, DRG assignment, or coding data quality
- Current AHIMA or AAPC accreditation
Preferred Qualifications
- RHIT or a bachelor's degree in a health-related field such as Business Office or Health Information Management
- 5 years of coding-related experience, such as coding, abstracting, APC assignment, or coding data quality
- Experience in a variety of specialty coding areas and/or multiple credentials
- Epic certification in Resolute/HIM
