Position in the Health Information Management Department coding physician clinic records for family practice and OB/GYN clinics using the EPIC electronic health record system.
The role includes coding diagnoses and procedures, entering codes and related data to support timely billing, and collaborating with physicians to improve coding and documentation quality. The coder will also maintain professional competency and participate in coding compliance audits.
This is a full-time, day-shift position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Regular onsite attendance is required, but limited remote work flexibility may be available after a satisfactory evaluation period.
Candidates must hold a current RHIT, CCS, or CPC certification through AHIMA or AAPC.
A satisfactory score on the HIM coding assessment is required.
Strong knowledge of clinical procedures, medical terminology, disease processes, coding guidelines, and computer/data processing skills is required.
Experience in a health care environment and medical coding is strongly preferred, though new graduate medical coders are encouraged to apply.
Previous ICD-10 coding training is highly beneficial.
