Medical Billing & Accounts Receivable Administrator

Vein Institute

The Vein Institute is a specialized medical clinic focused on diagnosing and treating vein conditions, including varicose and spider veins, through advanced minimally invasive procedures. The practice provides personalized, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting.

This full-time role is responsible for overseeing and supporting the medical billing and accounts receivable process to ensure timely reimbursement, accurate account management, and efficient claim resolution. The position works closely with billing staff, insurance coordinators, clinical teams, and management.

This is an in-person position based in Newtown, CT.

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in medical billing and accounts receivable management required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Billing and Coding, or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical insurance claims processing, denials, appeals, reimbursement procedures, and revenue cycle coordination
  • Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, medical billing terminology, payment posting, and account reconciliation
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems, practice management software, and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Excellent organizational, time management, multitasking, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate reporting and timely claims submission
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to independently follow up on outstanding claims, appeals, denied claims, and aging accounts receivable balances
  • Experience in specialty medical practice billing preferred
  • Experience with Vertex EMR software preferred
  • CPC, CBCS, or similar certification preferred
