Coordinates with the Funding Manager, Funding Supervisor, Branch Manager, Rehabilitation Technology Supplier (RTS), and office support personnel to ensure operational procedures are completed in accordance with company policy and within expected time frames.
Responsible for correcting and reworking orders that cannot be billed or have resulted in claim denials due to missing or incorrect information. This includes coding and pricing, gathering information and documents for the funding package, ensuring all documentation is in place, submitting to funding sources, and collecting payer decisions including authorizations, denials, and deferrals.
Works primarily in a work-from-home environment, with occasional work in a professional office setting. Uses standard office equipment and maintains regular, predictable attendance.
Minimum of 3 years of experience related to Durable Medical Equipment and/or Complex Rehab Technology.
Preferred experience in all aspects of a Funding Specialist role, including processing both repairs and non-repairs.
Extensive knowledge of funding processes and insurance guidelines for Durable Medical Equipment and/or Complex Rehab Technology, including insurance verification for DME.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong problem-solving ability and knowledge of company policies and procedures, with the ability to interpret and follow payer guidelines.
Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, RTSs, clients, branch staff, and billing and collections teams.
Must complete continuing education requirements, including assigned NSM University courses.
