Columbus Oncology and Hematology is seeking a full-time Medical AR Specialist to join the team. The role supports a private oncology and hematology practice with three locations in the Columbus area and is responsible for claim follow-up, denial management, patient billing, and account reconciliation.
This position is onsite at the Dublin, Ohio business location. It is not remote, but a hybrid opportunity is available after training.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience reviewing, researching, and following up on insurance denials
- Proven experience submitting tiered appeals using precise arguments based on clinical documentation and payer medical policies
- Ability to navigate Practice Management and EHR systems to identify aged outstanding balances
- Ability to review medical necessity and defend high-dollar claims
- Ability to identify, review, research, and resolve credit balances and ensure correct disposition of funds
- Strong documentation skills for follow-up activities and maintaining a historical timeline of actions taken
- Two or more years of experience in a physician practice business office performing AR follow-up, denial management, and reimbursement activities
- Overall knowledge of the healthcare revenue cycle and medical terminology
