Esencia Wellness & Therapy is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join its Billing Department in Tamarac, Florida. This on-site role focuses on physical therapy billing and requires hands-on experience with WebPT/TheraBill.
The position is responsible for managing the full billing cycle for physical therapy services, including claim submission, follow-up, denial resolution, payment posting, A/R management, and communication with insurance carriers. The role also involves monitoring authorizations, reviewing EOBs and ERAs, and ensuring billing accuracy and compliance with HIPAA requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous medical billing experience required
- Previous experience with physical therapy, rehabilitation, or outpatient therapy billing required
- Hands-on experience with WebPT and/or TheraBill required
- Strong knowledge of insurance claims, denials, appeals, EOBs/ERAs, payment posting, and A/R follow-up
- Knowledge of CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, modifiers, and insurance billing requirements
- Experience working with Medicare and commercial insurance plans
- Ability to independently investigate and resolve billing issues and outstanding claims
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through
- Professional communication skills with insurance companies and internal staff
- Must be able to work on-site in Tamarac, Florida
- Medical billing experience: 2 years required
