Accounts Receivable Specialist I

Labcorp is seeking a remote Accounts Receivable Specialist I to join its team supporting healthcare revenue cycle operations.

The role focuses on reviewing, processing, and resolving denied insurance claims, researching payer requirements and claim issues, managing assigned AR inventory, and maintaining accurate documentation. This position works closely with insurance payers, patients, physicians, and internal teams to support timely claim resolution and meet production and quality standards.

Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST, with flexible schedules available.

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in accounts receivable, accounting, medical billing, healthcare revenue cycle, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial and patient information
  • Ability to work in a remote office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
  • Ability to adapt to changing payer requirements and business priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • Customer service, call center, or healthcare support experience
  • Experience with insurance denials management or Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)
  • Experience with medical billing systems and platforms such as LCBS, LCLS, and Mobius View
