Northern Berkshire Pediatrics is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join its Billing Team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate billing, timely reimbursement, and exceptional service to patients and families.
The position works both independently and collaboratively to maintain patient billing accounts, manage incoming and outgoing payments, communicate with patients about outstanding balances, process insurance claims, document billing activity, support the EMR and billing software, investigate system errors, and follow up on denied claims.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least 2 years of medical billing experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting
- Excellent computer, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations, medical terminology, and coding practices
- Ability to commute to North Adams, MA 01247
