Compleat KiDZ / Kare Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Billing Specialist to join its Belmont, NC office. This role focuses on ensuring timely reimbursement through secondary and tertiary insurance billing, follow-up, denial resolution, reconsiderations, and appeals. The position works closely with the Medical Billing Team and the VP of Revenue Operations to resolve reimbursement issues and billing obstacles.
Responsibilities include working with NC Medicaid, Medicare Part A & B, and private insurance claims; reviewing claims for completeness and accuracy; verifying eligibility and benefits; filing appeals; monitoring aging and denial reports; responding to insurance, patient, and provider inquiries; and ensuring claims meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or above
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical billing specialist role
- Experience filing claim appeals with insurance companies
- Strong process and analytical skills
- Experience using ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Familiarity with UB-04 and CMS-1500 billing forms
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
- Ability to manage relationships with multiple insurance payers
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Understanding of HIPAA and confidential information handling
- Knowledge of North Carolina Medicaid billing and the NCTracks system
