Join a healthcare team in behavioral health as a Medical Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist. In this in-person role, you will help resolve outstanding insurance claims, strengthen the revenue cycle, and support reimbursement efforts by working aged AR to completion.
You will manage unpaid, denied, and underpaid claims, research discrepancies, submit appeals, and review insurance payments and claim statuses. You will also document account activity and communications with insurance carriers to help ensure accurate reimbursement.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical insurance accounts receivable, insurance follow-up, or medical billing experience
- Experience with insurance denials, appeals, collections, and aging AR
- Strong understanding of medical insurance claims, EOBs, reimbursement processes, and payer guidelines
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems, including Availity, billing software, and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- ABA billing experience preferred, but not required
