We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Medical Surgical Biller to join our healthcare team onsite. The ideal candidate will understand medical billing processes, coding, and healthcare claims management, and will take a proactive approach to charge and payment posting, accounts receivable, insurance claims, appeals, and patient accounts to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
Duties
- Prepare and submit healthcare claims using billing software and EMR/EHR systems, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements and regulations.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective communication with insurance providers and patients to facilitate prompt resolution.
- Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities, adjustments, and collections within medical records management systems.
- Monitor accounts receivable and perform collections on outstanding balances while adhering to patient confidentiality standards.
- Post insurance payments and submit appeals as necessary on improperly paid line items.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing within a surgical setting, with familiarity handling complex claims involving ICD-10, CPT coding, and modifiers.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare claims processing, insurance protocols, and health insurance policies.
- Proficiency with billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting.
- Excellent understanding of medical terminology, coding procedures, and medical office operations.
- Prior experience in medical collections and customer service within a healthcare environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical documentation standards and compliance regulations related to healthcare billing is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and goal orientation to meet daily completion standards.
