The Dental Home Director provides clinical and operational leadership for KinderSmile Community Oral Health Center in Trenton. This role delivers full-spectrum dental care, supports oral health education for underserved children, perinatal women, and families, and serves on the Executive Leadership Team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supervising clinical dental staff
- Providing diagnostic, preventive, and comprehensive dental treatment
- Overseeing scheduling, staffing, and patient flow
- Conducting chart audits and supporting billing integrity
- Managing supply budgets, equipment needs, and financial review
- Supporting staff development, evaluations, and mentorship
- Maintaining OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and compliance standards
- Participating in off-site community and school-based visits
- Preparing monthly board reports and leadership updates
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Graduation from a licensed dental school
- Current and valid New Jersey dentist license
- Current malpractice liability insurance accepted by the organization
- Current BLS or CPR certification
- DEA and CDS licenses preferred
Skills and experience
- Previous experience in a dental office serving patients of all ages
- Leadership and team supervision experience
- Technical proficiency with dental software and electronic health records
- Familiarity with Google Workspace tools, including Google Docs, Google Sheets, Gmail, and Calendar
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Punctual, reliable, and able to work with children
- Ability to balance clinical and administrative responsibilities
