Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join a family-oriented general private practice. In this role, you will play a vital part in promoting oral health, providing preventive care, and supporting the overall well-being of patients. You will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental care experience.

Duties include:

  • Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options.
  • Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while following infection prevention protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) using Dentrix.
  • Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Adhere to infection control standards and aseptic techniques.
  • Manage dental equipment maintenance, sterilization, and inventory control.
  • Provide compassionate and professional patient care.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Proficiency in dental software systems for documentation and records management.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
  • Experience with pediatric dentistry and age-appropriate patient education.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control standards.
  • Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately and safely.
  • Excellent client communication skills.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation review and data entry.
  • Knowledge of general dentistry procedures, dental equipment operation, and aseptic techniques.
  • Understanding of HIPAA compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
