Los Alamos Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Physician Practices Billing Manager to oversee daily operations for coding, billing, and revenue cycle management across multi-specialty clinics and a hospitalist group.
This role supports seven clinics, helps ensure compliant billing practices, assists with physician credentialing, and provides reporting and customer service support. The position reports to the Clinic Market Director and plays a key role in maintaining operational and compliance standards.
Bachelor's degree in a related field required; applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
CPC certification required.
CPB or equivalent certification preferred; practical experience may be considered as a substitute.
Experience and knowledge required:
- Experience in revenue cycle management
- Practical coding experience, including physician billing
- Ability to read, interpret, and correct claim denials
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, EMTALA, Good Faith Estimates, No Surprises Act, Stark Law, and other healthcare laws
- Familiarity with Athena or similar EMR/billing systems
- Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
