In this role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, assist with patient assessments, and support the clinical team with a variety of procedures. You will help maintain high standards of infection control and patient confidentiality while contributing to a positive care environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using advanced imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Conduct vital signs assessments and review medical history to assist in patient evaluation and treatment planning.
- Assist dentists during procedures such as examinations, restorations, and other general dentistry treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) by documenting treatment details, medical terminology, and patient interactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Ensure infection prevention management by adhering to aseptic techniques, sterilization protocols, and healthcare infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical records management.
- Demonstrated expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control practices.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse patient populations.
- Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) preferred.
