Duties

  • Perform dental prophylaxis procedures, including cleanings, scaling, and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable
  • Take medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
  • Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology standards

Skills

  • Proficiency with dental software systems like Dentrix for scheduling, charting, and documentation management
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
  • Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and HIPAA compliance to ensure accurate recordkeeping
  • Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about oral health practices
  • Knowledge of general dentistry procedures including patient assessment, infection control protocols, and medical imaging techniques
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Registered Dental Hygienist licensure or equivalent qualification
  • Experience with dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices
  • Ability to perform patient assessments and document care accurately
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and aseptic techniques
