Abby Care is building an AI-native platform for family-led care at home, combining clinical oversight with technology to support caregivers and improve outcomes across the healthcare system.
This role is responsible for accurately preparing, submitting, and following up on medical claims for home health services. The position focuses on timely reimbursement, compliance with payer and regulatory requirements, and clear communication with providers, payers, and patients.
Key responsibilities include claim submission, accounts receivable follow-up, denial resolution, insurance verification, prior authorization support, and maintaining accurate billing records.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Certification in medical billing and coding such as CPC or CPB highly desirable
- 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in home health care
- Strong knowledge of home health billing codes, insurance guidelines, and reimbursement processes
- Proficiency with EHR systems and billing software
- Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid billing guidelines specific to home health
- Experience with Medicare DDE and clearinghouses
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, problem-solving, and organization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
