Full-time Billing Specialist - Auditor role supporting Surgical Services revenue cycle operations for Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.
This position serves as the primary auditor for the Surgical Services revenue cycle and acts as a liaison between clinical users of the perioperative documentation system and corporate operations. The role manages complex daily reporting requests, corrects coding discrepancies, provides in-services to staff, and compiles monthly statistical data.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reporting on information systems lifecycle activities, including planning, business requirements, implementations, and production support
- Managing daily reporting requests and correcting coding discrepancies
- Ensuring user requests are received, evaluated, and responded to in a timely manner
- Meeting with clinical staff to establish report priorities
- Developing and refining business processes to support report creation
- Processing recurring and one-time system reports and verifying data accuracy
- Communicating with end users regarding report scope and maintenance
- Performing simple hardware maintenance and involving IS when appropriate
- Delivering staff in-services related to policies, system enhancements, education, and module operation
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3 years of surgical services experience required.
Broad exposure to OR operations required.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Nursing preferred.
Coding certification preferred.
