Johns Hopkins Intrastaff, the internal staffing agency for Johns Hopkins Health System and partner hospitals, is hiring a Pediatric Coding Specialist with experience in Pediatric Cardio Cath Lab procedures.
This role is 100% remote, with department-provided equipment and a requirement for in-home internet. Candidates must maintain permanent residence in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, Washington, D.C., or Florida.
The position focuses on professional fee coding in a physician-based environment, including diagnosis and procedure coding, work queue review, coding issue resolution, documentation review, and collaboration with providers to support accurate and compliant coding.
- Experience with Pediatric Cardio Cath Lab procedures
- CPC, CCA, or CCS-P certification required
- Bachelor's degree in HIM, Medical Coding, or a related field preferred; or high school diploma/GED with 2 years of medical coding experience in lieu of a degree
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and professional billing guidelines
- Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer policies, and coding compliance standards
- Experience using coding and revenue cycle systems to review work queues, resolve coding edits, and support claim submission
- Ability to review moderately complex cases involving multiple diagnoses, comorbid conditions, and complex documentation scenarios
