This is a remote opportunity, but you must be able to train onsite for a minimum of 6 months.
Begin or continue your coding career while supporting accurate coding and timely billing across hospital-based ancillary services. This role reviews medical records, assigns accurate codes, maintains credential knowledge, and manages work to established quality and productivity standards.
What You Will Do
- Review medical records and abstract designated statistical and clinical data into Epic and/or Fastrack.
- Assign ICD-10-CM and/or CPT codes accurately and ethically using 3M encoding software and coding manuals.
- Meet established productivity standards and submit coding activity logs on time.
- Manage deadlines and support departmental bill-hold and accounts receivable goals.
- Maintain coding knowledge and complete continuing education to maintain credentials.
What Will Help You Be Successful
- Interest or exposure in HB ancillary, laboratory, radiology, or related coding.
- Careful review of medical records and consistent application of coding guidance.
- Ability to learn formal processes, manage routine work, and ask for guidance when interpretation is needed.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- No experience required.
- CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CCA, CPC-A, CCS-P, or eligibility to sit for a credential exam.
- If hired while exam-eligible, the credential must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
- Helpful exposure includes hospital-based ancillary, laboratory, radiology, billing, or related revenue-cycle work; these are preferred, not required.
